ABOUT
I am a wife and a mother of three. I am a veteran. A former Justice Department attorney. A published author. A former city council member. Your current state representative. A three rescue dog momma. And a Jeopardy aficionado.

Growing up on military bases during the Vietnam War, I saw the sacrifices military members made in service to their country. While in high school I enlisted in the Ohio Air National Guard and later served in the Army Reserve. It was in basic training and later throughout my military career where I first learned about leadership. Leadership means always doing what’s right, but also inspiring others to do the same. It means rolling up your sleeves to get the job done and taking responsibility when things go wrong as they sometimes will. Finally, being a leader means being accessible and listening to those you expect to lead. I try very hard to embody these principles.

During my three and a half years in Columbus, I have served my constituents in a variety of leadership positions. I’ve been vice chair to three standing committees: Civil Justice, Criminal Justice, and the Armed Services, Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security Committee. As the Assistant Majority Whip, I served as the highest-ranking woman in the Ohio House of Representatives. I have introduced and supported a wide variety of bills that I care deeply about: protecting Ohio’s most vulnerable citizens, eliminating restrictive regulations on businesses, protecting the environment, reducing the tax burden on our residents, and supporting our military and first responders. As your elected official, I try to always be accessible to my constituents so that when they need me, I am there for them. And for you.
